Small Groups

We believe that bible studies and small groups, when composed of people who really care about one another and are gathered around God’s Word, can be a great help to us in growing closer to Jesus. Please peruse the following information on the bible studies and small groups that we are currently offering and see if one of them will fit for you.

If you would like to join a small group, please contact the church office.

Sunday Morning Drop-In Bible Study  This group meets on Sunday morning at 9:30 am in the boardroom.  We read & discuss the Bible readings for the day and get to know the people in the group, try to help them if we are able and also encourage each other in our faith & trust in Jesus, our Saviour. Led by Harvey A & Corrine W.

Sunday School  Sunday school is offered during the worship service. We welcome all children ages 3 to Grade 7. The schedule is: 1st Sunday of the month, classes; 2nd Sunday of the month, Family Sunday (kids stay in church); 3rd Sunday, group class and 4th Sunday, classes.  Regular classes start on Sep 27. We collect a weekly offering that is given to a mission project that the children choose.

Glimpses of Heaven Bible Study If you would like to get together with others for coffee and conversation as we look at the Bible to see what it tells us about our future destination - heaven - then join us on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, 2:00 - 3:30 pm at Langley Gardens, 8888, 202 St, in Walnut Grove. Starting date: Sep 26. Led by Pastor James.

A Clash of Kingdoms # 15: Lessons on Paul Proclaims Jesus as Lord Kurt & Lisa D will be facilitating this 5 session DVD series on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 pm in their home starting on September 20th and continuing weekly. (Childcare will not be provided, but they have toys and games if you wish to bring your children to play quietly downstairs during the study.) Please note that they do have an indoor dog. “In this fifteenth volume of That The World May Know, discover how Paul communicated the Good News of Christ to Philippi, a Roman colony that worshipped false gods. Can you live the message as Paul did while he encouraged the church in Philippi to consider itself a colony of heaven, not Rome? Consider your citizenship—and the message you convey to the world—as Ray Vander Lann takes you deeper into the culture of ancient Philippi.” http://shop.focusonthefamily.ca/Faith/All-Faith/A-Clash-of-Kingdoms-15-DVD-Guide.html

Confirmation Classes This 2-year Christian education program is for young people ages 12-14 and meets weekly on Sunday mornings at WGLC from 9:00am-10:15am.  It is led by confirmation staff and includes a whole group lesson as well as a small group for boys and a small group for girls.

Welcome to Transit!  We’re so excited for you to join us. Transit is an environment where middle school students (6th–8th grades) gather to explore their relationship with Christ and others. Transit facilitates this through large group music and teaching, followed by small groups to discuss what students just heard.  Thursday nights 6:30-8:30pm. Please call the church office for start date.

Welcome to InsideOut!  At InsideOut, we’ve created a large group environment that attracts students (in grades 9-12) just like you. After all, we figure you want to be wherever your friends are. We make this time as fun and relevant as we possibly can.  But we go a couple steps further and do two things we believe are vitally important for you: we pay attention to what’s going on in your life, and we care about you. This happens in our small group environment. Every week after large group, you will get together with your small group to spend time in a more intimate setting, talking, processing, and praying about what’s going on in your lives. Please call the church office for start date.

Young Adults We gather on Monday evenings to have a time together for community, food and worship. For more info, talk to Morgan P or call the church office.

Family Small Group Come out and share in the joys and struggles of parenting as we delve into God's word and its application to our lives.  We meet Sundays after church and share a meal together before starting our study.  This group meets once a month.  The first meeting is on Sep 24th.  We also plan a couple of fun evenings out for the parents throughout the year. Led by Lisa O.

Reading the Book of Acts We are studying the book of the Acts of the Apostles in the New Testament. The focus of this study is placed on learning about the historical development of the community of faith and group discussion on the significance of faith formation, Christian mission, and the growth of the church in this contemporary world.  This group will be led by Toru M and will take place at the Wired Monk from 1:30-3:30pm on Sundays.
